BREAKING NEWS: We learned of our first known reunion-related injury when Mary Ellen reported that she was experiencing "vivid bright disco lights flashing in my eye" last Monday night, a mere 48 hours after actually dancing to disco music:
Convinced she was having a stroke and dying, she was taken to the ER only to learn later that she had a renegade "floater" in her eye that was bouncing merrily off of her retina, apparently still pulsating to the beat of Donna Summer's "Hot Love".
Fortunately, Mary Ellen is fine--she escaped the retinal damage that these potentially dangerous things can cause-- but it made us realize that, just because nobody fell and shattered a hip on the dance floor doesn't mean they didn't sustain any injuries. We hope no one else had any delayed after-effects beyond waking up with sore quads from squatting for the "little bit softer now" segment of "Shout."
In any case, we'd like to think that no matter how beat up our bodies get, we'll still be Breaking It Down Old School Style like our friend Richard here:
(And you thought you'd only have "Hot Love" stuck in your head for the rest of the day!)
More video (of the reunion, that is) to come--in the meantime click on the photo gallery link on the right to see some still photos. And send me yours to add! ( sandyhughes@verizon.net )
